Jorge is a proud and active member of the Mayfair Towers community, which he considers his forever home. Originally from Mexico, he moved to New York over 20 years ago on a full scholarship to pursue a PhD in Finance and Economics at Columbia University, after earning an MBA and a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Rice University.

Professionally, Jorge is Head of Quantitative Research at a systematic hedge fund, where he designs computer algorithms that process large datasets to drive equity strategies and manages a portfolio with $1 billion in stock exposure. With a background in both engineering and finance, Jorge brings a systems-thinking approach to problem-solving—balancing technical insight with strategic planning; skills which directly translate to overseeing building finances, infrastructure planning, and governance. As a relatively new shareholder, he offers the Board a fresh, constructive perspective that can help drive thoughtful innovation and keep Mayfair Towers moving forward.

Jorge is passionate about fostering stronger community bonds among neighbors, and his goal is to help ensure our Mayfair building continues to grow and improve. On most days, you’ll find Jorge in the lobby with Smoosha, his cheerful Old English Sheepdog with pigtails. Outside of building life, Jorge enjoys Broadway shows, the Met Opera, chess, cooking, entertaining, and painting.

Jonah, recognizable as Kirby’s dad, loves the open community of Mayfair Towers. A lifelong New Yorker, Jonah graduated summa cum laude from Brown University with a B.S. in Computer Engineering and serves as Treasurer of the alumni board of his social house. 

As a Software Engineer and Manager at Google for over 10 years, he has experience leading strategy with accountability to peers and building stakeholder consensus. While running Google’s real-time auction, helping websites facilitate demand from advertisers as part of a multi-billion-dollar product, he manages a team within a larger-scale network of 1000 for Google Ad Manager.  As a founding member and former President of the Alumni Association for his social house at Brown, representing hundreds of members from its inception in 1995, Jonah is directly responsible for writing its charter, constitution, and bylaws. As part of the Board, his role is to foster the alumni community and work with the current students as they continue their journey into adulthood.

Jonah’s unique perspective of balancing longer-term strategies with short-term engineering decisions will allow him to help Mayfair Towers meet the needs of its residents today and build towards a stronger community in the future.  As a younger resident of Mayfair Towers hoping to grow and raise his family within the building, Jonah is personally invested in the sustainable growth of Mayfair Towers.
